Al-Quran, the Holy Quran, is the primary religious text of Islam, the second-largest religion in the world. It is a sacred book that Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Arabic: الله, Allah). Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Muhammad, the last Prophet of Islam.
The Quran is divided into chapters called surahs. Each surah is a text of approximately 1500 words. The Quran is divided into two parts, the upper and lower sections. The upper section contains the first three chapters, called Al-Qur'an. The lower section contains the rest of the chapters. Some of the chapters in the lower section are called "Juz" (meaning "section"). The word "Juz" is used to distinguish the chapters in the lower section from those in the upper section.
There is no word in the Quran that indicates the length of a surah. However, the most common length is approximately one and a half to two and a half lines. The first line of each surah is called the "first line" and the last line is called the "last line." The "last line" of a surah is usually the same as the "first line." However, there are some exceptions to this rule. Some surahs end with a poem called "Al-Adha." Others end with a thugha, which is a supplication or a prayer.
The word "Quran" is derived from the Arabic word "قران," which means "the revelation." The word "Al-Quran" is derived from the first two letters of the Arabic alphabet, which are "al" and "quraan.
